Pooja, she knew what she wanted from the moment I met her. She wanted to stay true to herself, honor her Indian heritage, and celebrate her new husband’s culture as well. It was a tall order to fit so much goodness into just one weekend, but they made it happen alongside their incredible team of wedding vendors. Her & Michael’s love fueled this wedding weekend and really allowed it to unfold in the most perfect way. Pooja being from South Asian descent & Michael being American, they knew a Fusion Wedding Weekend would be the perfect way to celebrate them both, and to start their marriage off in the right way- friends and family by their side. With wedding planner Maddy Ghosh of Little Wedding Blush, guiding the way, let me tell you, they did not disappoint! This was one for the books. For their South Asian ceremony, held at The Golf Club at New Castle, Pooja dawned two gorgeous looks. For her ceremony look, she wore a stunning green & gold Lehenga. With it’s classic, smooth fit, we decided to keep things sleek & clean with both her hair & makeup. We did a very neat chignon style, low updo with a gorgeous fresh floral hair piece Pooja ordered from Nalini’s Flowers. Since Pooja is not a huge makeup wearer typically, we decided to keep things fresh and natural with earthy tones on both her eyes & lips. Her skin was lightly layered with Becca Primers and foundation from CoverFX. Layering in this way creates a smooth, satin finish without getting cakey or feeling too heavy on the skin. The perfect bridal glow that will hold up through the many customs they moved through at the ceremony. For her reception look (party time!), she chose a traditional red & gold ensemble. In light of the evenings festivities, we decided bringing her hair down would be best. We added some wave, but still kept the look smooth & clean (again, staying true to Pooja’s nature and natural aesthetic). While the makeup wasn’t dramatically different, we did make a few key changes by adding more liner and lashes to bring attention to her beautiful eyes and of course we HAD to do a bold red lip. I really felt we met tradition with a natural, modern feel to make this feel like Pooja’s day, not just another South Asian Bride. I think it’s important to find little ways to make these moments feel personal. With Pooja specifically, I think we found that mostly with the way we layered her skin. It never felt heavy and truly glowed in the perfect way from morning to night. The next day was magical in a whole new and different way. It felt like a new hit movie with the Hollywood stars we love so much. Day two was FUN! All Pooja’s besties flew in (mostly from New York) and we had the best time getting ready that morning. I brought in my full team to get these babes ready, all hands on deck. We truly loved every minute. Her look for this day was fresh, fun, & glowy (would I even be Angie Evans if I didn’t add a glow?). We did a classic, romantic half-up style to give her a relaxed, yet finished vibe. For her makeup, we kept things clean & natural, but added a bit more glow & some peachy tones to freshen up her skin tone. We wanted this to feel fresh and romantic. She was a beam of light all day, coming off the high from the day before and it created a sort of magic in the air for all involved.
